Bookworm

Hi crafter's

It's been a while since my last post. This is my entry to the Clarity challenge, it's all about the wee folk. I have set 2 which I bought recently and I think the little boy reading is one of my favourites. I began by stamping the little boy in black ink then cut a circle and masked him. Next I used a stencil by Sam Poole and coloured through with ink dusters and Juniper, Cloudy Blue and Peach Melba inks (the Cloudy Blue hasn't scanned as well as I would have liked) randomly. Keeping the stencil in place draw around the squares with a grey fine liner pen. Remove the stencil and doodle some lines and dots in some of the squares. Stamp the words book worm in the white spaces and the word imagine in the bottom right hand corner. Add shade under the boy with a soft pencil. Mat on to white card then grey card. I have some pieces of book pages lying around from a book I am altering so I glued these to a white base card. Paint with white gesso. It all looked a bit straight and neat so I rubbed with my finger around the edge, any parts that where not stuck down came off, much better. Blend some Juniper and Cloudy Blue over the gesso. Glue the topper in place. That's all for this one, hope you like it.

Thanks for looking

B for Butterfly

Hi crafter's

Back for another Chocolate Baroque challenge. Mask a circle on a white piece of card and stamp the allium stamp from the Breath of Spring set through the hole. Move the mask to another spot covering the allium with a circle mask and stamp again. The colours I have used are Eggplant, Paris Dusk and Stream. To build up the background stamp some of the Mini Scripts randomly in Pastachio. Stamp the Butterfly three times in Watering Can. Colour in with Spectrum Noir pencils. Ink up the alphabet stamp from the Mini Scripts set in Watering Can. Colour the B in with a purple pencil. Stamp this again twice more on to a scrap piece of card. Blend Paris Dusk around the edges leaving the middle much lighter. Cut out the letters spelling ..for butterfly...and colour in with the purple pencil. Stick in place as shown. Using a blue Promarker add some dots in opposite corners. Dot some glitter glue on the alliums and the butterflies bodies. Mat on to purple and blue card then on to a white base card.
That's all for this one, hope you like it.
